Real-time translation messaging app
Role
Founder — Product, Design, Development
Stack
Programs Used
Messaging between people who speak different languages means copy-pasting between translation apps. There's no fluent, natural conversation experience.
I designed and built every layer — from product strategy and brand identity to the React Native app and the AI translation infrastructure. Set up subscriptions with RevenueCat and productized a real-time flow where messages appear instantly in the recipient's language.
Strategy & Positioning
Market research, competitor analysis and the positioning that 'translation isn't a feature — it's the conversation itself'. The one-line promise of the product came from here.
Brand & Visual Identity
Logo and a visual language of purple glow on dark ground — a 'midnight conversation' feel — kept consistent from app icon to store assets.
UX Flows
Designed onboarding, language selection, chat and subscription flows. The rule: translation must never be an extra step.
Development
React Native app, real-time messaging infrastructure and the AI translation pipeline; subscriptions and payments via RevenueCat.
Testing & Launch Prep
Closed testing, translation-quality measurement and App Store preparation. The investor deck is fed by this process.
Messages living in one bubble in two languages — a chat UI that flips between original and translation
Getting real-time translation latency low enough not to break conversation rhythm
Embedding the subscription model (RevenueCat) into the experience without friction
What This Project Taught Me
“The hardest part of a product isn't adding features — it's deciding what not to add. Every screen in Uniling was tested against one sentence: 'make translation invisible'.”
The app is in testing and preparing for investor conversations. The result is an experience that makes the language barrier invisible inside the chat.
